La chenille se nourrit au printemps sur l'Érable. L'adulte vole après les premières fortes gelées jusqu'en décembre. L'espèce est présente d'Europe au Japon.
Rarissime en Île de France, l'exemplaire présenté est le seul connu de cette région.

The caterpillar feeds on Maple trees in the spring. The adult is on the wing after the first heavy frosts and until December. The natural habitat of this species extends from Europe to Japan. It is extremely rare in the wider Paris area and this exhibited moth is the only known one in the area.
