La chenille se nourrit au printemps d'Orme, de Saule ou de Peuplier. L'adulte vole de juin à juillet, hiverne et pond au printemps suivant. L'espèce qui souffrit de l'enrésinement du massif, a régressé.
Elle se maintient au "Bois des Pommeraies" (P 838-41).

The caterpillar feeds on Elms, Sallows or Poplars. The adult of the species is airborne from June to July, then hibernates and lays its eggs the following spring. The species has suffered from the extensive planting of conifers throughout the Fontainebleau forest area and its population has hence been dwindling in numbers.
This moth restricts its natural habitat to the “Bois des Pommeraies” (P 838-41).
