Les chenilles vivent groupées dans des bourses soyeuses et sortent la nuit en processions pour se nourrir. Leurs poils sont très urticants. L'adulte vole de mai à juin, puis d'août à septembre. Disparue un temps, elle est revenue en Seine et Marne.
Elle est attendue en forêt de Fontainebleau.

The caterpillars live together in groups, in silky pouches and foray at night processioning about. Direct contact must be avoided at all cost because their hairs cause dreadful hives on the skin. The adult moth is on the wing from May to June, then again from August to September. This species had disappeared from the Fontainebleau area for some time now, but has been spotted in the Seine & Marne district.
Sightings in the Fontainebleau forest are expected shortly.
