La chenille vit en début d'été et en septembre sur le Hêtre. L'adulte paraît ensuite en deux générations entre avril et août. L'espèce se trouve en Europe avec la même répartition que le Hêtre.
On la trouve au "Rocher Besnard" (P 438 & 439).

The caterpillar lives off Beech trees at the beginning of the summer and in September. The double-brooded adult is on the wing between April and August. Barred Hook-Tip moths are found in Europe wherever Beech trees grow.
In the Fontainebleau forest, it can be spotted at the “Rocher Besnard” (P 438 & 439).
